Step 1: If your Texans credit cards are lost or stolen, report the loss immediately by calling 800.362.6299 for Platinum Plus® Visa® WorldpointsTM Cards and 877.388.6560 for Texans Rewards American Express® Card. Most other card companies also have a 24-hour emergency service phone number.
Step 2: If your Texans check card is compromised, lost or stolen, report the incident immediately by calling 800.472.3272. If you need additional information once you have reported a card lost or stolen, call Texans at 972.348.2143.
Step 3: Contact all three national reporting agencies to report the theft of your identity. You might start with a phone call to each and follow up with a letter.

Step 4: Alert your financial institution(s). They will close your account(s), open new ones and order new checks for you if necessary.
Step 5: File a police report at your local police department. Keep a copy for your records.
Step 6: File a claim with the FTC at 877.ID.THEFT or www.ftc.gov/idtheft.
Step 7: Complete an ID Theft Affidavit to provide to each creditor.
