Money Orders
Money orders are helpful in situations where a merchant may not accept a personal check. A money order guarantees that the funds are available to the merchant, as they are received from Texans Credit Union and not the member's checking account.
Texans sells money orders to our members for amounts up to $1,000.00. This service is free to our members with one of the following checking accounts:
For all other personal and business members, the fee is $3 per item1.

1. If the member maintains an aggregate daily balance of $10,000 or more in all core and IRA accounts, there is no cost for money orders. "Core accounts" are maintained under the member's account number only. They do not include accounts of family members with distinguishing account number suffixes, other accounts on which the member is not the primary account owner, or business accounts.
