Most decisions are available within 2-3 business hours. If your application requires a more detailed review or is submitted outside of business hours, it may take longer. A loan advisor will contact you by phone or email once an initial loan decision has been made.
A down payment is not always needed, but may be required. Providing a down payment can reduce the amount you need to finance and may lower also your monthly payment.
No. You can apply and be pre-approved before you shop for your vehicle.
Yes! You can apply alone or with another applicant. Simply choose the option to add a joint applicant when starting your application if you would like to apply with another person.

Auto Loan Account FAQs

We require your declaration pages with proper dates of coverage and Texans Credit Union listed as the lienholder for verification of insurance.

If you need to submit your declaration pages, please upload them online at myinsuranceinfo.com. If you are having difficulty submitting your documents online, you may also email them to docsend@FMQ.alliedsolutions.net.

While Texans is not able to provide a temporary tag for you, you can obtain a temporary permit at any county tax office or regional service center for 30 days. Visit TXDMV.gov or your state’s website for specific details on what items are necessary to obtain the temporary tag.
Your local county office will mail your license plates to you. The time it takes to receive your license plates may vary by county.
If you have an existing loan and need a copy of your original loan documents, you can request a copy by giving us a call at 972.348.2000 or by visiting your local branch. If your loan is still being processed, please reach out to your dedicated loan advisor or branch representative. They will send your final loan documents for your signature.

It can take up to 2-3 weeks to receive your title.
You can check to see if your payoff check has been processed by logging in to Digital Banking or the mobile app and checking the current balance and recent transactions on your loan account. A Texans representative can also check on the status of your account for you.

If you traded in your vehicle to a dealership, the trade title will be sent directly to the dealership after the dealer pays off the loan.
It can take up to 2-3 weeks to receive your title.

If you are purchasing a vehicle and the vehicle title is currently in the name of a business, you will need to provide a copy of one of the following in order for Texans to complete the title transfer: Articles of Incorporation, Certificate of Formation, or Dissolution of Entity. The document provided must show the individuals who have the authority to sign on behalf of the business entity.

If you are looking to purchase a vehicle for a business that you own, we do not currently offer business loans.

If you are the only person listed on your loan account, your name will be the only name on the title. If there is a joint accountholder on your loan, both names will be listed on the title unless it was specifically requested to only add one individual to the title.
The majority of vehicle titles are now electronic titles. A Texans representative can confirm the type of title on your specific account.

Yes, if you purchased your vehicle from a dealership and we processed your title transfer, Texans Credit Union is listed as a lienholder on the vehicle title.

If you signed loan documents that required you to perfect the lien and list Texans Credit Union as the lienholder and need assistance with this process, a representative is happy to help answer your questions.

We typically receive and record your title within 45 days of the date you purchased your vehicle.
Your title is mailed 7 days after your loan payoff date. It can take up to 2-3 weeks to receive your title.
After your loan is paid off, your title will be mailed to the address on file unless you have requested to have your title mailed to a third party. If you need to update your address, please do so prior to paying off your loan.

Auto Loan Warranty FAQs

After your warranty has been cancelled, it typically takes 2-3 weeks to process your refund.
If your loan is open, the warranty refund will be applied to the principal balance of your loan. If your loan has been paid off, the refund will be deposited into your Texans Savings account.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide an estimate for your warranty cancellation refund. The warranty company does not provide us with this information until they have transferred the refund payment after cancellation.
