After your friend registers for their bonus, they'll need to complete the following steps within 60 days:
1. Open a new Texans Checking Account
2. Make one direct deposit or ten debit card transactions (excludes ATM transactions)
3. Enroll in eStatements through Digital Banking
It's that easy! Once they've completed these steps, we'll deposit your bonus into your account - and the friend you referred will receive a bonus too.
1 - The person making the referral (Referrer) will earn a $50 reward bonus for each individual referred (Referred Person) to Texans Credit Union who registers for the offer, opens a new Texans Credit Union personal checking account, and completes the offer requirements within the time specified in the offer. To make a referral, the Referrer must register for the program and share the offer with their friends, family, or coworkers. A Referrer may receive up to ten (10) reward bonuses ($500 value) within a calendar year, but only one Referrer may receive a reward bonus for each Referred Person who fulfills the requirements.
To earn a $50 reward bonus, the Referred Person must register by following the link provided in the referral email or on social media, open a new Texans Credit Union My Texans checking account, and meet the following requirements within 60 days of account opening:
• Complete ten (10) or more debit card transactions (excluding ATM transactions) OR one (1) direct deposit of $200 or more, AND
• Sign up for E-statements
The Referrer authorizes the sending of communications to each Referred Person. The email may not be recovered if the person has “opted out” of marketing material from Texans Credit Union or ReferLive. Each person who registers at ReferLive authorizes future communications including emails regarding the program unless they “opt out” by making an election at ReferLive or within such email. The Referred Person acknowledges that a reward bonus will be issued to the Referrer after all conditions have been met in the time frames provided.
The person making the referral (Referrer) must have a Texans Share Account. Both the person making the referral (Referrer) and the individual referred (Referred Person) must be in good standing to be eligible for participation in the refer a friend offer. If Member should cease to be a Texans member or fall out of good standing before qualifications are met, the Member will not be eligible to receive reward(s). Program is not valid in combination with any other offer Texans Credit Union offers.
Texan Credit Union employees and their immediate families are not eligible for the refer a friend offer.
This offer can be changed at any time without notice.

Rewards bonuses earned by the Referrer may be reported as income to the IRS.
The individual being referred (Referred Person) must meet the following requirements to qualify for participation in the refer a friend offer:
• Must not have been a Texans Credit Union member (primary or joint account holder) for at least one year prior to opening accounts as part of the refer a friend offer.
• Meet all criteria needed to open a Texans Credit Union Share Account and Texans Credit Union checking account.
• Must open a Savings account, a Checking account, and must be the primary account holder on both.
• Remain in good standing with Texans Credit Union through the time of reward distribution.

Reward bonus earned by Referred Person is considered interest and is reportable on IRS form 1099-INT.
